FULL COLOUR IN THREE EASY STEPS
Sublimation is an ink transfer process that uses heat sensitive
sublimation inks to permanently dye substrates with polymer coated
surfaces.
Sublimation
inks are specially formulated for Epson desktop printers for photographic
quality images that surpass high-end silk-screening and rival offset
press results. Sublimation processes can personalize graphic images
for transfer on ceramic, metal, polyester fabric, Digital L’ink
apparel, Mylar, glass, Unisub plastic and wood, and more!
Using
a sublimation process, you can digitally print colorful, high-resolution
transfers for ceramic, metal, glass, wood, polyester fabric, plastic,
and more. Simply print from most design software to an EPSON desktop
printer or large format ink jet printer using high-quality ink jet
paper and SubliJet ink cartridges. The resulting ink transfer sheet
can be used to personalize a variety of products, such as mugs,
mouse pads, plaques, T-shirts, flags, banners, and carpet graphics.
CESCO is the largest authorized Canadian distributor
of Sawgrass SubliJet inks and UNISUB products for sublimation.

Sawgrass has been awarded numerous patents covering the exclusive
use of printing computer-generated full color images onto paper
with heat-sensitive ink in a non-activated state for subsequent
heat transfer onto surfaces other than paper.
This unique ink process allows colors to actually penetrate the
surface, resulting in a brilliant, extremely durable and more permanent
image than silk screening. The Sawgrass technology is applicable
to all major computer-driven printer formats (thermal, inkjet, laser).
In addition to this core technology, Sawgrass has been issued other
patents supporting the heat transfer of its proprietary inks onto
various surfaces.

Unisub is a completely new collection of substrates including
hardboard & fibreboard, fibreglass reinforced plastic and cement
board; designed specifically for brilliant, full colour sublimation.
Unisub lets you offer added value to your customers with
a wide range of new products featuring photographic quality, full
colour images on an extremely durable surface. Sublimation takes
place directly into the surface so there is never an additional
topcoat or lamination to further dull the image.
Created with versatility in mind, Unisub products are available
in a variety of shapes, sizes and thickness.
All products are designed for use with sublimation ink transfers.
They will accept transfers created with sublimatable inks via lithography,
silk-screening, ink jet, laser or electrostatic printers.

Step One: DESIGN YOUR TRANSFER
A computer, graphic design software, printer with sublimation
inks, and a heat press are all you need to begin making full
colour items. With a scanner, digital camera or any electronic
image or clip art, you have the flexibility to create colorful
designs and add photographs. Once you've created an electronic
design, you can create as many or as few transfers as you
need.
Step Two: PRINT YOUR TRANSFER
With your sublimation printer and cartridges, you're ready
to start printing transfers. Sublimation produces vibrant
colour that surpasses silk screening or hot stamping - perfect
for logos, photos, clip art or other images.
Step Three: HEAT YOUR TRANSFER
Sublimation inks are specially formulated to convert directly
from a solid to a gas under heat and pressure. While in a
gaseous state, teh inks are attracted to certain types of
synthetic surfaces. The inks actually penetrate and bond with
the sublimatable surface so that a permanent, durable image
is created. Other heat transfer methods only apply colour
to the surface of the substrate, resulting in a product that
can be easily scratched or damaged.
